Cowboy track & field team goes to Humboldt, Manson

The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows boys track & field team competed last Thursday in a 2A state qualifier at Manson. South Central Calhoun took the team title with 134 points, followed by: Alta-Aurelia 93, Roland-Story 87, Emmetsburg 76, Pocahontas Area/L-M 64, Southeast Valley 63, Greene County 59, South Hamilton 55, Manson NW Webster 55, Ogden 30, C-G-D 19 and Eagle Grove 6.

Highest finishes went to the shuttle hurdle relay (4th in 1:03.79) and the 4x8 (5th in 9:06.41). Taking sixth were Alex Rosenbaum (3200), the distance medley and the 4x4 relay.

“Jaace had a personal best in the 100,” said head coach Craig Warnke. “Alex had his personal best outdoor time and Kaden beat his personal best by 10 seconds (both in 3200). The 4x4, distance med and shuttle relays all had personal best times.”  

Earlier in the week, the red and black finished eighth in the varsity division at the NCC Meet hosted by Humboldt. The Wildcats took the title with 162 points, followed by: Algona 140.5, Iowa Falls-Alden 136, Webster City 101.5, Clear Lake 66, St. Edmond 53, Hampton-Dumont 44 and C-G-D with 34.
