Cowboy track & field team goes to Hampton, Belmond

On Monday, April 15, the Clarion-Goldfield-Dows boys track & field team traveled to Hampton for the Bulldog Invitational Meet. Roland-Story took the team title with 165 points, easily outdistancing second place Aplington-Parkersburg with 124 points. The rest finished like this: Denver 123, H-D 121, Garner-Hayfield/Ventura 60, C-G-D 57, Belmond-Klemme 54 and Newman Catholic 33.

The distance med foursome of Miller, Martinez and the Davis boys broke the tape in 3:56.09 for the only win on the night. Watne heaved the shot to a 45’ 10.5” best effort for second place in the event.

On Tuesday, they competed at the Bronco Relays hosted by Belmond-Klemme. Lake Mills took the team title with 189 points, followed by: B-K 110, Bishop Garrigan 110, West Hancock 108, North Iowa 63, C-G-D 59, West Fork 47 and Newman Catholic 45
