Cowboy track and field get three more meets in

Last Tuesday, the Clarion-Goldfield-Dows boys track & field team started their week at the Cardinal Relays hosted by Garner-Hayfield/Ventura. West Hancock took the team title with 108 points, followed in order by: Lake Mills 106, G-H/V 86, C-G-D 85, Belmond-Klemme 77, West Fork 62.5, North Union 51, North Iowa 51, North Butler 49.5 and Rockford 26.

Zach Pogge was a double winner again, taking both the 400 (54.26) and the 200 (23.76) events. Bryce Hamilton came through with a 400 hurdles win in 1:01.07, with the 4x4 relay of Nick Haechler, Hamilton, Derek Conlon and Pogge breaking the tape first with 3:45.57.

“We were leading the team standings with three events left,” stated head coach Craig Warnke. “With any meet that’s right after prom, you never know just what to expect. We took some good stuff away from this meet."
