County supervisors to hold public hearing on EMS

The Wright County Board of Supervisors have set May 14 at 10 a.m. for a Public Hearing regarding emergency medical services (EMS) in Wright County. In August 2017, the Board declared EMS an essential service in Wright County and appointed an EMS System Advisory Council.

During the Supervisor’s meeting on Monday, Emergency Management Coordinator Jim Lester, chairperson of the advisory group, requested the Board set a Public Hearing to hear information from both the EMS System Advisory Council and the public regarding EMS in Wright County.

During the hearing, Lester and the Advisory Council will present their proposal to the Board and also allow residents of the county an opportunity to express their feelings on the status of EMS in Wright County.

The Advisory Council will be asking the Supervisors to set a date for a special election, asking voters to approve a special EMS property tax levy to assist in funding the EMS System.
