Corn Days activities in Dows August 3, 4 and 5

Dows is the place to be August 3, through 5. The hours will be packed with entertainment for all ages. From the Shelter Park to the downtown Historical District to the businesses on Dows’ mainstreet, the Corn Days Committee promises there will be something for everyone.

Friday night, August 3, the Avery’s Texas-style Jam will be in the Shelter Park on mainstreet Dows, beginning at 6 p.m., and Lions Club Bingo starts at 6, along with full meals, including homemade pie, at the churches’ food stand. With a $5 Corn Days button, the kids can play on all the inflatable rides Friday night and all day Saturday.

Little Miss and Mr. Dows will be crowned at 7 p.m. in the Shelter. Then at 9:45 p.m., you’ll find the best fireworks around at Tiger field just north of the schoolhouse. The show will be bigger and even better this year.

Saturday. August 4, the day starts off with the Legion Pancake Breakfast at the Legion Hall on mainstreet from 6-9 a.m., followed by the Dows Depot Fun Run at 8 a.m., at the Depot. There will be a 2-mile run/walk and a 5K race. You may print the registration form at the Dows Corn Days Facebook page and bring it with you to the race Saturday morning.
