Comstock introduces Smooth Move senior downsizing

Almost everybody will move at some point in their life, whether it’s across town or across the country. While moving is rarely easy, it can be particularly challenging for someone who’s looking to downsize into a small apartment or nursing home—especially when you’ve got a lifetime of memories (and stuff) to take with you.

Recognizing that challenge, Clarion area resident Cheri Comstock has started a new business: Smooth Move, for senior downsizing and move and liquidation management.

While Comstock is just starting out with her business, she’s been doing related work for years. As the insurance supervisor at Bradford Financial Group, she started working with clients on estate management, sometimes helping to sell items like furniture and heirlooms if they were no longer wanted. She’s also helped friends and family members move. But she’s noticed that’s not an option for everybody.

“Some people just don’t have enough family to help them,” Comstock said.
