Clarion-Goldfield-Dows School Board Election to be held in September

Every other year, school districts in Iowa conduct school board elections.  September 8, 2015, patrons of the Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Community School District will hold an election to fill two positions.

Two board members with expiring terms include Clint Middleton (District Two) and Missy Schultz (District One).  Director District One (Schultz) is the western portion of the school district that includes Goldfield.  Director District Two (Middleton) is the middle portion of the district including Clarion.  Although candidates must reside in the district for which they seek election, voters of the district vote for candidates of director districts one and two.

Anyone interested in running for the school board is able to pick up nomination papers in either the district office or the Wright County Auditor’s office.  Nomination papers are due in the district office no later than Thursday, July 30, at 5 p.m.  Questions concerning the director district boundaries or other associated questions may be directed to Dr. Bob Olson, Superintendent or Anita Frye, School Business Official.  The district office number is 515-532-3423.
