Clarion-Clarion-Goldfield-Dows School District’s New Logos

As the Clarion-Goldfield School District prepares to merge with Dows for the 2014-15 school year, the districts’ Transition Board approved new logos for Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Schools.

Clint Middleton, School Board President, designed the chain-link “C G D” logo that will be used for athletics. At School Board meetings, he spoke of endeavoring to make a logo where no one letter would be more prominent than another.  “We’ve always done that when we bring the schools together,” Middleton said.

Kevin Katz, Clarion-Goldfield Technology Specialist, designed the letterhead logo, which will replace the former graphic, the letters “CG” crossed with an “excellence in education” banner. He also developed the logo with web use in mind, and took its horse-and-rider graphic from the wall of CG Middle School’s office.

Dr. Robert Olson, Superintendent, said that the letterhead logo will be added to all new stationary and that the current CG stock expected to be used up by the new school year’s fall start. The districts’ signs will also change soon. Dates have not been set for repainting logos on the schools’ walls. Most athletic uniforms state generically “Cowboys” and “Cowgirls” and thus will remain both unchanged and current.
