Clarion’s Sesquicentennial Grand Marshals 2015

The Festival in the Park has been going on for 30 plus years. “This year festival is more special than years past,” said Susan Tofety, the Festivals Co-Planner. This year is Clarions Sesquicentennial (150 years) “It’s a monumental task to still be thriving as a community after so long,” said Tofety.

The Grand Marshals for the festival were chosen, by the community, for their contributions to the town. Ralph Borel was nominated and selected for his agricultural contributions. He ran a family owned farm where his children now live. Arlie Urness was the business contribution aspect. He has owned his business for 56 years. It has been family owned for its entire existence in Clarion. Judge Newt Draheim was selected for his generational contribution. His family has been deeply involved in Clarion’s activities and businesses. His grandfather worked as a tailor, his father opened a dry cleaners, and Draheim opened a law firm in town.
