City election results - Diamond wins tied Clarion city council seat

Results for the regular city election were approved Monday at the Wright County board of supervisor’s meeting. Due to a 98-98 vote tie between candidates Josh Diamond and Lindsey German for one of the two Clarion city council seats, Board Chairman Karl Helgevold drew a name out of a juror’s tin.Diamond was drawn, making him a city council member starting January 1 of 2016, along with Andy Young, who received 139 votes. Other candidates were Teresa Lancaster with 73 votes and Nicholas McOllough with 25 votes. There were three additional write-ins.
