Choralaires Christmas Concert

The Choralaires gave a beautiful Christmas concert on Sunday at the First United Methodist Church. The concert had them singing along with audience members in the packed pews with Christmas favorites like “O Little Town of Bethlehem,” “Silent Night,” and some fun tunes like “Jingle Bells,” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.” Director Karen Strempke led the choir’s performances of “O Come O Come Emmanuel,” “Go Tell It On the Mountain,” “He Shall Be Called,” a mix titled “A Rhapsody of Christmas,” and several more. They also showed a slideshow about how the choir has changed since their beginning in 1982.

The Choralaires also chose for a freewill donation to be collected for the upcoming meal-packaging event with the Ministerial Association. Pastor Nicole Woodley of the First Lutheran Church told the audience that before the concert, they had passed their fundraising goal by reaching $10,600. The association had decided that they would package as many meals as they would raise funds for. At the end of the concert, it was reported that the donation had brought funds up by more than $800. Each additional $1,000 will package 5,000 meals beyond the 50,000 goal.
