CGDHS Vocal Music Department Presents “Seussical” on Nov. 1 and 2

What is Seussical? This is a new musical, based on the works of Dr. Suess, but is isn’t just a string of his stories set to music. It isn’t just one of his stories. In fact, this is a full-length musical with a story that weaves together his most famous tales and characters in unexpected ways.  The Seuss musical includes hundreds of wonderful characters, creatures, places, and things.  “Seussical” includes elements from at least 15 Dr. Suess books, as well as many of his best-loved and most familiar characters.  Many of these characters have never met each other before, but they meet in this musical.  During the musical, some characters will fall in love, some will be adventurous, and some will save the world.  They will travel anywhere from the Jungle of Nool to McEligott’s Pool to Palm Beach.

Dr. Suess believes in helping a friend, not giving up, and keeping a promise.  He believes in the value and dignity of others, working to protect and preserve the sweetness of the world, and he believes that peace is the ultimate ideal, among nations and inside every heart.  Dr. Seuss also believes in the power of imagination. You will experience all these serious concerns at the heart of “Seussical.”
