C-G-D works on school expansion plans

Clarion-Goldfield-Dows school administration and staff met on Wednesday, August 15 to receive an update and offer feedback on the current state of a plan to expand the district’s high school building.

“The reason I asked everybody to come is because this could impact many of your positions,” said Superintendent Bob Olson to the attending middle school and high school building staff.

Facing limited space against the prospects of future growth, the school is developing a plan to build and extension onto the existing high school building that would accommodate the middle school classes of the district, freeing up space in the existing elementary/ middle school building for the expected influx of students.

The new addition would house grades six, seven, and eight, and possible grade five as well.

“We’re just busting at the seams and there’s no other place to go,” said Olson.
