C-G-D High School vocal students participate at Dorian Vocal Festival

On Sunday, January 15 and Monday, January 16, five C-G-D High School vocal students will participate in the Dorian Honor Choir at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa: Meghan Geary (soprano), Cheyenne Harle (soprano), Emma Konvalinka (alto), Dylan Pate (tenor), and Max Powers (bass). The Dorian honor choir is the largest in the United States, boasting 1,100 high school vocalists from five states. Luther College will have three interim directors this year due to the departure of Allen Hightower, director of choral activities.  Guest composer Stacey Gibbs, who resides in Detroit, Michigan, plans to rehearse with the Dorian Honor Choir.  Mr. Gibbs is well known for his arrangements of spirituals.  The honor choir will be singing his arrangement of "Down by the Riverside" plus other selections.

The Grand Concert is slated for Monday, January 16 at 7 p.m. in the Center for Faith and Life.  Tickets are very limited for this event.  However, there is supposed to be a live feed available on the Luther College website.
