C-G-D athletes compete at state track meet in Des Moines

Clarion-Goldfield-Dows was represented in four events at the state track & field meet last week at Drake Stadium, and while no medals were brought back the athletes still gave good efforts and made great memories.

On the Cowgirls side, the 4x2 relay picked up 20th place on Friday in 1:52.27. They gained three spots over their ranking going into the meet. Members of that relay were Ana and Meleah Johnson, Kenna Kruger and Courtney Harle. Harle also ran the 100-meter dash, finishing 24th in 13.26 on Thursday.

For the Cowboys, the shuttle hurdle relay finished 18th in 1:04.58 on Thursday. That relay included Jacob O’Connor, Clinton Miller, Alex Machuca and Chase Harker. O’Connor also ran the 110-meter hurdles on Friday, taking 24th in 16.41.
