Area Kids Hunt Eggs, See Easter Bunny

Over 250 attendees hunted for eggs (and watched their children participate) in Clarion’s annual egg hunt April 19, Easter Saturday. “It’s all about the kids!” genuinely said Tom Simmons, who helped coordinate the event and sought funding for it through donations fromaround 90 area businesses and individuals.

Taking time off from a busy weekend to meet her constituency, the Easter Bunny was on hand for photos. At a prize raffle, ticket numbers were read in English and Spanish. The egg hunt itself happened in several waves at the Clarion-Goldfield High School library and gym, as the elementary-aged children rushed out onto the floor to seek a sugary bounty that included various small candies, plastic eggs full of treats, pens, water bottles, fruit, stickers, and plush gorillas, ducks and tigers.
