The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows/CAL football team continues to search for their first win following a 21-6 loss to Crestwood last Friday at Cresco. Reymundo Vasquez scored the only Cowboy touchdown on a seven-yard carry. All of the game’s scoring came in the first half.

James Robert Johnson passed away on Monday, August 14, 2017, at the Iowa Specialty Hospital in Belmond, at the age of 71 years.  Funeral services were held held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 18, 2017, at the United Presbyterian Church in Goldfield with Rev. The Cowboy basketball camp was held last Monday to Friday, with 80 campers from 3rd to 12th grade participating. They took part in fundamental drills, scrimmages and many competitions including one on one, free throws and hot shot.
